What time will be required at the theatre for rehearsals?
We will send out a detailed schedule within 2 weeks of Term 4 so you may prepare for your day. Students will be advised of an arrival time and a rehearsal time.
Does my child need to be at the tech run during the day?
Yes, all students MUST attend the tech run. This is a health and safety requirement and no exceptions will be made. Any-one who does not turn up to the tech run will not be allowed to perform on stage.
What time will I be required at the theatre for the actual show?
All students must be dressed and ready to go by 5.30pm, 1 hour prior to the show commencing at 6.30pm.
Do students need to stay backstage for the entire show?
All students performing will need to stay backstage for the duration of the show. The only exception is our RSD and 6/u students who may be picked up at stage door at interval.
Who will take care of my child whilst backstage?
We will be allocating 2 volunteers per dressing room to help out backstage, plus extra helpers to roam around to ensure everything is going to plan.
Where do I drop my child off?
All children must be dropped off at stage door where they need to be signed in AND out by their parent or guardian, for both rehearsal and the show.
Are parents allowed backstage?
No, parents will not be allowed backstage. We will have helpers to take care of students to ensure they know where they need to be and when. Please prepare your children for this and make sure they are aware that you will need to leave once sign in is complete.
Can we go home in between rehearsals and show?
This is your call. If you feel you have enough time to go home and get ready you may do so. Those that do not have time, I suggest hair and make-up be done prior to rehearsals.
What do I need to bring?
All students are responsible to bring all costumes, hair and make-up requirements. We will have a list of things to bring available at reception.
Do I need to do my own hair and make-up?
Yes, all students are to arrive with their hair and make-up done at 5.30pm.
How do I know what hair and make-up I will need?
We will email all hair and make-up requirements approximately 4 weeks prior to the show. We will also have the information available at front reception.
What do I do with my costume after the show?
All students are responsible for taking their costume home with them.
What happens if all or some of my costume goes missing or gets damaged?
In the event a costume is damaged or lost you will be charged a fee to either fix the costume or replace it. Costumes cost a lot of money and we expect students to take the utmost care with them to ensure they do not get damaged or lost.
My child is very young and I am worried she/he may lose it?
We will have helpers allocated to the younger age groups (3-7yrs) who will be advised to help with packing up their costume. Please make sure they have a bag big enough to fit them.
Can I wear my costume to and from the venue?
No you may not. Costumes remain the property of Launch Performing Arts Centre and must not be worn anywhere other than the venue. This reduces the risk of damage.
Can I eat in my costume?
Definitely not. You may drink water only.
What if I decide I do not want to do the concert anymore. Do I still owe for costume hire?
Yes, costumes have now been ordered and paid for by Launch Performing Arts Centre for our end of production.
When do I drop the costume/s back?
Students are required to bring their costumes back within a week of the concert during studio time 4-8pm. Deadline is Saturday 26th November. Those that do not return their costume by the deadline will be charged a late return fee of $5 per costume.
Will my child have fun?
ABSOLUTELY!!! It’s the best night of the year and we cannot wait to see your children shine!
